LG전자, 새 15.6인치 노트북은 980그램

  LG가 새로운 그램 노트북 라인업을 꾸렸는데, 15.6인치 노트북의 무게를 무려 980g으로 만들었고, 1월 CES에서 공개한다는 뉴스가 있다. 15.6인치에서 1kg 이하의 노트북은 세계 최초라고 한다. 의아한 점은 저전력인 코어 M이나 아톰을 이용하지 않고 6세대 i5 및 i7을 장착했다는 점인데, 아무리 스카이레이크로 오면서 전력소모량이 줄었다고는 하지만, 무게도 엄청나게 줄였기 때문에 배터리가 감당할 수 있을지 의문이다. 배터리 시간이 7시간이라는 얘기도 있던데... 일단은 믿기가 쉽지는 않다.

There’s no shortage of thin and light laptops on the market, but LG’s Gram line features some of the most compact models around. The company currently offers models with 13.3 inch and 14 inch displays, and both laptops measures just 0.5 inches thick and weigh just 2.16 pounds.

So what’s next? LG has a new model coming soon that features a 15.6 inch display and an Intel Skylake processor. And like its smaller siblings, the new LG Gram 15 will weigh just 2.16 pounds.

LG plans to show off the new LG Gram 15 model 15Z960 at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.

There aren’t many other details available about the laptop yet, but LG says notebook isn’t much larger than a typical laptop with a 14 inch display. That suggests it could have extra-thin bezels around the display.

If it’s really just 2.16 pounds, the LG Gram 15 will also be one of the lightest laptops with a large screen. In fact, it’ll be one of the lightest laptops on the market, period. Lenovo’s LaVie Z laptop is lighter, weighing just 1.87 pounds, but that notebook has a 13.3 inch display.
